Your documents are processed on your Mac. Network services are used only when you initiate Git or Overleaf synchronization, choose iCloud Drive, make an App Store purchase, or contact support.
1. Information LateXTree handles
Documents and projects
LateXTree reads and writes the files and folders you choose. LaTeX source, bibliographies, images, generated PDFs, Git data, and comparison results are processed locally. LateXTree does not upload these files to a developer-operated server.
Project access
macOS may provide LateXTree with security-scoped bookmarks so it can reopen folders you previously selected. These bookmarks and the recent-project list are stored in the app’s local preferences.
Credentials
When you save an Overleaf Git token, LateXTree stores it in macOS Keychain. The token is used only to authenticate Git operations you request. It is not written into your project files.
Purchases
Subscriptions are processed by Apple through StoreKit and the App Store. LateXTree receives transaction and entitlement status needed to unlock purchased functionality; it does not receive your full payment-card information.
Support messages
If you email support, the developer receives the address, message, and attachments you choose to send. This information is used to answer your request and troubleshoot the issue.
2. Services you choose to use
Some features communicate directly with services selected by you:
- Git providers: Fetch, pull, clone, and push contact the remote configured for that project.
- Overleaf: Connecting and synchronizing a project uses Overleaf’s Git service and is subject to Overleaf’s terms and privacy practices.
- iCloud Drive: Projects saved in iCloud are synchronized by Apple according to your iCloud settings and Apple’s privacy practices.
- App Store: Purchases, subscription status, distribution, and optional Apple diagnostics are handled by Apple.
3. Analytics and advertising
LateXTree does not contain third-party advertising SDKs and does not use your document content for advertising, profiling, or training artificial-intelligence models. This website does not set advertising or analytics cookies.
4. Data retention and deletion
Your project files remain where you saved them and can be deleted with Finder. You can remove a saved Git token through LateXTree’s settings or macOS Keychain Access. Removing the app deletes its local app-container data according to macOS behavior, but does not automatically delete project folders stored elsewhere or remote repositories.
5. Security
LateXTree uses the macOS App Sandbox and Keychain for sensitive Git credentials. No method of storage or transmission is completely risk-free, so keep your Mac, remote accounts, and project access tokens protected.
6. Children
LateXTree is a general-purpose writing tool and is not directed at children. The developer does not knowingly collect children’s personal information through a developer-operated account service.
7. Changes to this policy
This page may be updated when LateXTree’s functionality or legal requirements change. The effective date at the top identifies the latest revision.
